Summary Screen (application homepage)
After login, the main screen of Watson Field Reporting is displayed. Incidents, Memos, Arrest Tickets, Crashes and Tickets are listed by category: 'Reports needing attention', 'Submitted Incidents/Memos', 'Submitted Arrest Tickets', 'Submitted Crashes' and 'Submitted Tickets'. Click on the desired category to view items. This summary form is also displayed after closing any Incident, Memo, Arrest, Crash record or Ticket search. Submitted items listed are read only and can only be reviewed or appended (using continuations/amendments). However, items that have not been submitted are available for review and editing. After the first report has been submitted, the 'Reports pending supervisor review' category will then be displayed.
All arrests are shown in one of the arrest ticket categories, whether they were created from an Incident or are independent (based upon charges alone). If the arrest belongs with an Incident (i.e. it was created within an Incident) then the related Incident will be opened. Arrest tickets created within an Incident submit with that report (for more details on arrest tickets see Arrest Ticket).
Incidents, Memos, Arrests, Crashes or Tickets 'needing attention' contain incomplete or pending submission items. Users should always submit their data after completing a report. When a network connection is not available, the records pending submission will remain in the 'Reports needing attention' category and an automated process will re-attempt posting when a network connection is established. Upon successful submission, the report will then move to the 'Reports pending supervisor review' section. A supervisor must then approve or disapprove the report via the Watson Field Reporting web tool. If the report is approved, it will then be moved to the 'Submitted reports' category. If the report is disapproved, it will be moved to the 'Reports needing attention' category and will be marked as 'Disapproved'. The officer can then make any necessary changes to the report and re-submit. 'Sync with Server' allows the user to manually sync with the server in order to update report status. The sync process also happens automatically every 2 minutes.
